Official forecast
Weather for the coming days in the Puster Valley and Ahrntal
Minimum and maximum temperatures apply to the Puster Valley district. Steinhaus, at about 1,050 m, is usually slightly cooler than the main valley.
The Ahrntal is a high Alpine valley: Steinhaus lies at about 1,050 m and the Klausberg ski resort reaches 2,510 m. On average it gets about 0.6 °C cooler with every 100 metres of altitude – worth remembering for mountain trips.
Winter · December to March
Cold, often clear days with snow in the valley and on the mountain. The Klausberg ski resort (1,050–2,510 m, about 40 km of slopes) starts 150 m from the house; Speikboden is also part of Skiworld Ahrntal. Sub-zero mornings in the valley are normal.
Spring · April and May
The valley turns green while snow lingers at altitude. The lifts pause between the winter and summer seasons; in 2026 Klausberg reopens for summer on 15 May.
Summer · June to September
Warm days in the valley and fresh mountain air. As everywhere in the Alps, hot days often bring afternoon thunderstorms – start hikes early. Klausberg and Speikboden operate in summer.
Autumn · October and November
Often stable, clear days with long views and golden larches. The first snow may already fall on the peaks. In 2026 Klausberg runs until 1 November.
